Overview
This Boos Brothers' Cafeteria was in operation in 1916.
Building Notes
The Boos Brothers' Cafeterias were often crowded, generating a great amount of cash that attracted criminals periodically. Various restaurants in the chain had their cash registers robbed or safes burgled during the 1910s-1920s. In 1916, for example, two inept crooks failed to open a safe at this cafeteria, leaving behind a mess but netting no cash. (See "Burglars Poor Bunglers," Los Angeles Times, 01/03/1916, part II, p. 2.)
