Owner and manager Isador Louis (born c. 1837 in Prussia) operated the Louis Opera House in San Diego, CA, in 1892. Louis owned other real estate in the city, including the Louis Bank of Commerce Building, located at 835 5th Avenue. (SeeSan Diego, California, City Directory, 1892-1893, p. 136.)

Louis worked as a shoemaker in San Diego in 1880, but got into real estate investments by the 1890s. He became a naturalized US citizen on 11/02/1864 in San Francisco, CA.
