Building History
In 1889, Thomas H. Davies was the manager of the Saint Elmo Hotel in Seattle. (See R.L. Polk and Company's Seattle City Directory, 1889, p. 384.)
Building Notes
This small rectangular hotel had a one-floor porch extended off its south side into Main Street. On the first floor, a salon filled the hotel's southwest corner, and a stairway up to second floor occupied the middle of the plan. In 1888, the hotel stood very close by to a railroad station on West Street, convenient to tourists arriving in the city.
The Saint Elmo had a restaurant operating with it at 120 Main Street in 1889. J.W. Revington managed the restaurant in that year. (See R.L. Polk and Company's Seattle City Directory, 1889, p. 384.)
Demolition
This hotel burned in the Seattle Fire of 06/06/1889.
