The Los Angeles Times said of this new, four-story warehouse in 1924: "Work will start soon on a four-story Class A warehouse to rise on the corner of Mateo and Industrial streets for the Santa Fe Railroad at a cost of $350,000. The structure will have a frontage of 374 feet and a depth of 144 feet., and will be designed by the Santa Fe engineering department."
