The Tourist Hotel stood on the northeast corner of Occidental Avenue and Main Street.

Overview

This six-story inn was known as the "Tourist Hotel" in 1905. Dempsey and Cudihee were the proprietors, with room prices ranging from 50 cents to $1.00 per day. Room with board in 1905 cost between $1.00 and $1.50. (See Polk's Seattle Directory Company's Seattle City Directory, 1905, p. 1490.) Like many buildings in Pioneer Square built after the Fire of 06/06/1889, the Tourist Hotel was in the Richardsonian Romanesque Style.

Demolition

The Tourist Hotel was razed. For many years, the site was occupied by a parking lot. In 2016, the Weyerhaeuser Corporation opened its new headquarters building on this spot.
