This school was located on the southeast corner of South Brand Boulevard and East Broadway.

Building History

The Glendale Public School District erected this two-story, wood-frame building in 1902, the first purpose-built high school in the city. Previously, instruction occurred in the dining room of the Glendale Hotel. (See Glendale High School, "The History of Our School and City--Our Glendale," accessed 03/27/2018.)

Building Notes

This school was known popularly as "The Cheesebox."
