Better Homes and Gardens magazine, in its 06/2004 issue, profiled the Astoria, OR, residence of Nancy and Don Skinner, who relocated to the West Coast from Chicago, IL. Don Skinner had worked as an exhibit designer at the Field Museu mof Natural History in that city, before retiring in OR with his wife to be closer to their son, Chad, who lived in Portland, OR. The article described changes the Skinners made to a 1944 dwelling they purchased, with the help of a gnereal contractor, Ed Overbay.
