The San Diego Trust and Savings Bank Headquarters was located at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Broadway.

Overview

The renowned San Diego architect, William Templeton Johnson (1877-1957), produced the design of this Mediterranean Revival/Romanesque Revival Style skyscraper that opened for business in 1928.

Building Notes

During its first five years, the San Diego Trust and Savings Bank Building operated a lighted beacon atop the bell tower located on its roof.

In 1942, the banks hierarchy consisted of: J.W. Sefton, Jr., President, E.F. Farnsworth, Vice-President, D.N. Millan, Vice-President, C.J. Thorsen, Vice-President/Trust Officer, and E.D. Clapp, Cashier. (See San Diego City Directory, 1942, p. 752.)
