Long Beach, CA

Overview

This long, beachside railroad station served both the Pacific Electric Railway Company and the Salt Lake Railroad in the early 20th century. Like many more substantial facilities for larger cities, this depot had Mission Revival Style characteristics, including arched openings, stuccoed walls, scalloped parapets and a red tile roof. Pacific Electric depots for small towns generally were of a more utilitarian and stylistically minimal character.
