Overview

The four-floor Otis College of Art and Design Academic Building (AB) was connected to a new Residence Hall (RH) and library, located perpindicularly. The AB contained space for multiple uses, including a cafe, auditorium, and student life center on its first floor, fashion archive and sophomore/junior sewing studio on the second, fashion design and illustration classrooms on the third, and fitting theatre and senior sewing studio on the top story.

Building History

Architects Frederick Fisher and Steven Ehrlich collaborated on the design of the new AB and RH buildings, built over 23 months in 2014-2016. Fisher and Ehrlich were both members of the Otis College of Art and Design Board of Governors. Their firms collaborated with DPR Construction to erect the new buildings on the Goldsmith Campus of Otis.

The new RH and AB complex opened on 08/18/2016 for student use.
