Building History
George K. Barnes and his son, E.K., built houses next door to each other in Glendale, CA, near the intersection of Brand Boulevard and Randolph Street in about 1913. The Los Angeles Times reported on 04/06/1913 : "George K. Barnes, formerly of the Smith-Barnes Music Company of Chicago, is erecting a six-room residence at the corner of Brand boulevard and Randolph street. His son, E.K. Barnes of Rockford, Ill., will begin in a short time a residence on the adjoining lot." (See "Glendale Advancing," Los Angeles Times, 04/06/1913, part VI, p. 1.)
