Overview

The City of Tacoma issued building permits for the Charles A. Cavendar House in 1888. They worked with builders Link and Young of Tacoma. (See "Two More Houses," Tacoma Daily Ledger, 07/24/1888 p. 8.) Architects Pickles and Sutton designed the house and a barn for Cavendar the following year. (See "Building Notices," Tacoma Daily Ledger, 01/01/1889, p. 9.) This information came from the Tacoma-Pierce County Buildings Index, produced by the Tacoma Public Library.
