Building History

The Syracuse YMCA stated this about its facility in 2017: "The Downtown YMCA grew with the city, opening its current facility at 340 Montgomery Street in 1907. The association expanded the facility dramatically in the 1950s and has renovated the space several times since. Today, the Downtown YMCA stands as a cornerstone of Downtown Syracuse, serving as its community center for healthy living, the arts, and social responsibility." (See Downtown Syracuse YMCA,org, "Downtown Syracuse YMCA," accessed 10/12/2017.)
