529 California Street
Financial District, San Francisco, CA

Overview

This second location of the rapidly growing San Francisco Savings Union probably existed for about two years, from c. 1865 until 1867. This space was probably, like its first location at 513 California Street, rented. In 1867, the bank moved to a new, wholly-owned facility on the northeast corner of California and Webb Streets in San Francisco. (See "Is a Solid Bank," San Francisco Call, 04/29/1894, p. 7.)
