Building History
The Sacramento Union newspaper said of the construction of this Nevada courthouse in 1919: "Homer S. Williams of Sacramento and San Francisco has been awarded the contract for building the Humboldt county courthouse in this city [Winnemucca] for $120,424; Jacob Meyers of Reno, plumbing, heating and oil, $9190; Reno Electric company, wiring, $2973, and the C.B. Brown company of Winnemucca, finished hardware, $2234, making a total of $134,821. Contractor Williams says he will start work in less than a week, and estimates the job can be finished within six months. He hopes to have the structure under roof before winter, so work can continue. Construction will be supervised by F.J. De Longhcamps [sic], architect, of Reno, who will be on the ground all the time, or have a representative when he is absent."
