An advertisement for the Bon Ton Bath Rooms and Tonsorial Parlors in Los Angeles stated of the establishment in 1888: "The Bon Ton Bath Rooms and Tonsorial Parlors, O.L. Susand, Proprietor, are fitted up in perfect taste and neatness. The many artists employed by Mr. Susand are noted for their dexterity with the razor; and for dressing and cutting the hair, shampooing, etc., the Bon Ton has no equal. The bath rooms, which are noted for their cleanliness, are all newly enameled, and to really enjoy a most luxurious bath, hot or cold, with shower, one must try these. The proprietor has likewise especially put up elegant new enameled baths for ladies and children. Bon Ton, 235 and 237 North Main street." (See "The Bon Ton Bath Rooms," Los Angeles Herald, vol. 29, no. 121, 01/31/1888, p. 3.)
