Overview

Architectural firm Bradbeer and Ferris designed this two-and-a-half story residence for William and Sarah Cockins, who resided in the dwelling from 1891 until 1903. It was divided into a duplex in 1911, and later transitioned to become a rooming house. In 1997, the nearby University of Southern California (USC) remodeled the residence to become its Center of Occupation and Lifestyle Redesign.

Building Notes

The Cockins House was named Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #519 on 02/01/1991.
