Overview

N. Zemansky operated the Golden Rule Store in Central Sacramento in 1893. The name "Golden Rule" was used frequently by merchants on the Pacific Coast for stores. (See "Golden Rule Store Ad," Sacramento Daily Union, vol. 86, no. 30, 09/23/1893, p. 3.)
