Overview

In 1895, there were a cluster of hotels in this section of the downtown that had French names, including the Hotel de Grenoble (205 Aliso), Hotel de Strabourg (North Alameda and Ducommun), Hotel Des Pyrenees (300 Aliso), Hotel du Leon D'pr (401 North Los Angeles), Hotel d'Europe (226 Aliso) and the Hotel de Gap (217 Aliso).
