The B.F. Coulter Dry Goods Store operated at the corner of Spring Street and 2nd Street in 1886. According to an advertisment in the Los Angeles, California, City Directory, A-L, 1938, (p. 548), the Coulter Dry Goods Store was founded in 1875. (See Los Angeles A-L, California, City Directory, 1938, p. 547.) It operated at 7th Street and Olive Street in 1938.
