Overview
This motor court of 125 units operated in Los Angeles, CA. c. 1935. The complex consisted of a two-floor building housing guest rooms (second floor) and the check-in desk and offices (first-floor), a cafe, approximately fifty tourist cabins and seven, two-floor blocks housing rooms. The tourist cabin model required the maintenance of fifty separate cottages, a costly undertaking; the advantage was that separated cottages had some additional acoustical insulation over a single building.
