Overview

The Los Angeles Herald said of this building commissioned by Homer Toberman in 1903: ""Homer Toberman, 1036 Sunset boulevard, two-story twenty-six room building, $6790; J.S. Herrington, contractor." (See "Buildings Planned for the Future," Los Angeles Herald, no. 299, 08/02/1903, part III, p. 1.) Another listing on the same page of the Herald indicated that it was a "26-room frame building." A building permit for the Toberman Building was issued on 08/01/1903.
