Overview

This New Chinese Theatre at 623 Jackson Street, stood across the street from an existing theatre also known as the "Chinese Theatre" at 618 Jackson. To confuse matters further, another venue, listed in the San Francisco, California, City Directory, 1879, as the "Chinese Theatre (Royal)," operated in that year at 836 Washington Street.
