Originally a hunting lodge, Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks bought the property in 1919, and had architect Wallace Neff renovate it in 1927; it became one of the showplaces of Beverly Hills; the couple separated in 1933, but Pickford lived in the house until 1979, when she willed it to the Mary Pickford Foundation; in 1980, Los Angeles Laker owner, Dr. Jerry Buss purchased the house in 1980, but never lived in it, finally selling it in 1988 to producer Meshulam Riklis and his actress wife, Pia Zadora; they demolished the house in 1990, leaving only the front gates to build their own mansion designed by the architect, John Andrews;
