Building History
Owner Otto Stoesser commissioned architect William H. Weeks (1864-1936) to design this two-floor, brick and terra-cotta store and office building. In 1922, it was estimated to cost $50,000. (See "Stores and Offices," Building and Engineering News, 12/23/1922, p. 13.) The Stoesser Family also commissioned Weeks to remodel another building owned by them built in 1872. (See Betty Lewis, W.H. Weeks, Architect, [Fresno, CA: Pioneer Publishing Company, 1985], p. 46.)
