Overview

Gordon and Betty Whitaker Moore donated the funding to erect this building housing the Electrical Engineering Department at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Moore (born 01/03/1929) graduated with a doctorate in chemistry from Caltech in 1954, and became, along with Robert Noyce, the co-founder of NM Electronics in 1968, a firm the became Intel, the dominant producer of semiconductor chips in the world.
