Overview

In 1903, the People's Express Company operated at 412-418 9th Street in Downtown Oakland, CA. At this time, J.W. Blain served as President of the People's Express Company, with A. Barlow, the Vice-President, and L. Schwobeda, the Secretary, of this general baggage and transfer service. The firm also had offices in 1903 in Alameda at 1428 Park Street and, in Berkeley, at 2211 Shattuck Avenue. (See Oakland, California, City Directory, 1903, p. 351.)
