Overview
The Exchange Building was in operation in 1865. The City of San Francisco cut Columbus Avenue through the location of the Exchange Building between 1873 and 1875, requiring its demolition.
Building Notes
In 1867, the architect William S. Mooser (1834-1896) had his office in Room #28 of the Exchange Building. (See San Francisco, California, City Directory, 1867, p. 355.)
