Overview
Saint Athanaisius Episcopal Church operated in 05/1878 led by Rev. William H. Hill, Rector. It was one of at least 12 religious congregations functioning in Los Angeles, CA, at that time. These included: Protestant Episcopal (meeting at the Georgia Street School), Catholic Cathedral, Old Catholic Church (Los Angeles Plaza), Saint Athanaisius Episcopal Church, Fort Street Methodist Episcopal Church, Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church South, Baptist Church, Presbyterian Church (meeting at the Good Templars' Hall), First Congregational Church, Unitarian Church (meeting at the Union Hall), Church of Christ (meeting at the Court House), and Evangelical Lutheran Church (also meeting at the Union Hall).
