Overview
The Seattle architectural and engineering firm of John Graham and Company designed this department store in 1953 for Allied Stores, owners of the Bon Marche. Graham employee, Manson O. Bennett (1912-2005), worked as a designer on this 160 by 160-foot building that contained 98,000 square feet on three floors. The building contained escalators and was known as the Bon Marche-Russell's into the 1970s.
Building History
The Sunnyvale, CA-based software company, Symantec, founded 03/01/1982, utilized this former Bon Marche Department Store for about 10 years.
Alteration
Following the Bon Marche's relocation to Valley River Center in 1990, later occupants punctured windows through second and third-floor walls.
