Stevenson's Building stood on the southwest corner of Montgomery and California Streets in 1868.

Overview

Andrew J. Stevenson owned Stevenson's Building, according to the San Francisco, California, City Directory, 1868, (p. 523). The directory of that year indicated that it had a new name of the "Change House" in 1868. The city directory of that year also referred to the building as the "Stevenson House" (p. 608).

Building Notes

In 1868-1869, the architectural firm of Wright and Sanders maintained their office in Room #19 of Stevenson's Building. (See San Francisco, California, City Directory, 1868, p. 608, andSan Francisco, California, City Directory, 1869, p. 676.)
