Overview
In 1869, the Baker-Hamilton Company, importers of hardware and agricultural machinery had a showroom and offices in the Yankee Block. Baker-Hamilton also had an office at 9-15 J Street in Sacramento, CA, and an office at 88 Wall Street in New York, NY. Ten years later, Baker and Hamilton had two San Francisco stores, one at 13-19 Front Street in the Yankee Building, and one at 109-111 Pine Street, as well as the same Sacramento location.
At least two other businesses, including Cameron, Whittier and Company, had offices in the Yankee Building c. 1869.
