Overview
The Spreckels Brothers operated the Albany Brewery in San Francisco, c. 1861. An advertisement placed in the San Francisco California City Directory, 1861, (p. 533), stated: "This Establishment has been enlarged for the third time during the past season and now possesses facilities unsurpassed by any competitur for the production of superior cream ale to supply the increasing demands of the Public." (See "Albany Brewery Advertisement," San Francisco California City Directory, 1861, p. 533.) Carl Spreckels was one of the brothers who operated this brewery located at 71-75 Everett Street.
