Overview

Building Notes
In 1863, the US Light House Department of the Pacific Coast had its offices on the Customs House's third floor, as did the US Inspector of Boilers and the US Inspector of Hulls. (See San Francisco City Directory, 1863, p. 357.)
The US Custom House housed the "Chinese Registration Bureau" in 1883. (See San Francisco, California, City Directory, 1883, p. 308.)
Demolition
San Francisco's United States Custom House #4 was razed to make way for Eames and Young's United States Custom House #5 (1906-1911) built on the same site.
