Overview
Stanford University's first President, David Starr Jordan (1851-1931), lived in this transitional, Queen Anne Revival/Colonial Revival Style residence c. 1906. Jordan referred to it as "Xasmin House." It was located at the eastern end of Serra Street, nearby to Sequoia Hall and the Casa Ventura. A later retirement residence for Jordan and his family, Serra House, erected in 1923, stood just to the east of Xasmin House. Serra House, unlike Xasmin, was spared the wrecking ball, and has been moved twice on the Stanford Campus.
Demolition
Xasmin House was demolished.
