Overview
By 1900, the Sperry Flour Company had emerged as the largest flour milling enterprise on the Pacific Coast. In 1913, it had 12 mills in CA and WA, and by 1922, only 8. In 1922, the Stockton mill was the firm's second largest, capable of producing 2,500 barrels a day, second only to its Vallejo plant that could process 5,000 barrels per day. (See The Miller's Almanack, 1922, p. 214.)
