Overview

Maine-born pharmacist Samuel Curtis Pinkham (1870-1935) co-founded the Sterling Drug Store at 609 State Street in 1902 with partner G.H.A. Phillips. The store operated at this address until 1914, when Pinkham dissolved his partnership with Phillips, retained the Sterling Drug name and moved to a new store at 1137 State Street. The store remained under Pinkham's ownership until 1928.

Pinkham and Phillips also operated a second store at 1227 State Street for a brief period c. 1910.
