Overview

Pasadena architect Reginald D. Johnson (1882-1952) designed this Lake Arrowhead weekend residence for the prominent Los Angeles lawyer Stuart O'Melveny (born 03/02/1888 in Santa Monica, CA), and his wife, Isabel W. O'Melveny (1892-1974), in the early 1930s. Stuart was the eldest son of Henry William O'Melveny (born 08/10/1859 in Central City, IL-d. 1941), founder of the powerful O'Melveny legal firm, that, early on, focused on corporate law. Stuart O'Melveny became the Chairman of the Board of the Title Insurance and Trust Company of Los Angeles.
