Overview
The Los Angeles Board of Education called for contractor bids for this 70 foot by 100-foot machine shop in Los Angeles's port neighborhood of San Pedro in 04/1918. It was to be of either brick or wood-frame construction. (See "Advance News" Building and Engineering News, vol. 18, no. 17, 04/24/1918, p. 9.) The building was located about one block away from the Dana Middle School and San Pedro High School in Central San Pedro. In 2016, a Von's Supermarket occupied the site at 1221 South Gaffey Street.
