Overview
In 1885, Charles Ross operated the Mount Rainier Beer Hall on Yesler Wharf, one of the many saloons in Seattle. At this time, saloons probably stood as the largest and most lucrative business type in the city. Located on one of the busiest and most important docks, this would have been one of the first bars that sailors disembarking ships could have hit upon reaching the city.
