Overview

The Works Progress Administration (WPA) assisted local fire officials in automating Sacramento's fire alarm system in the 1930s. WPA workers erected the station in Winn Park, a city park in the Midtown neighborhood of Sacramento.

Building Notes

In 2002, the Sacramento Art Deco Society awarded City Councilman Steve Cohn, the City of Sacramento and the Winn Park-Capitol Avenue Neighborhood Association a preservation citation for its restoration of the Central Alarm Station Systems Building.
