Overview
The Victoria Hotel, an establishment containing "rooms en suite with bath and all modern conveniences" according to an advertisement in 1896, stood at the corner of Front Street (later renamed 1st Avenue) and University Street. It indicated that the Victoria Hotel was the "Late Arlington Hotel." (See "The Victoria," advertisement, Seattle Times, 01/06/1896, p. 7.)
The Hotel Victoria was located in the Post Office Building in 1901. Charles W. Ellis was the manager of the Victoria at this time. (See R.L. Polk and Company's Seattle, Washington, City Directory, 1901, p. 614.)
