Building History

The National Bank of Commerce opened a temporary Capitol Hill Branch on 05/12/1958 at 337 15th Avenue North with Claude R. Brown as manager. (See "Manager Named," Seattle Times, 05/07/1958, p. 17.) It introduced this new, permanent building at 321 15th Avenue East. during an open house held on 09/01/1960. William Waldo was the branch manager at the opening. (See "Bank Building," Seattle Times, 09/01/1960, p. 30.)

Building Notes

In an advertisement of 08/31/1960, the National Bank of Commerce lauded the spacious quarters, new off-street parking lot, new safe deposit boxes and new night depository of the new branch.(See "Opens Tomorrow A New HOme for N B of C's Capitol Hill Branch," Seattle Times, 08/31/1960, p. 47.)
