Overview
This was an early house owned by James Leary Flood (1857-1926) and his wife, Marie Rosina Fritz Flood (1862-1898), following their marriage in 1887. Flood inherited great wealth from his father, James Clair Flood (1826-1889), who made a fortune in the Comstock Silver Rush of the 1860s-1880s. Later the elder Flood turned his income from silver into real estate and banking endeavors. They moved to another house at 1816 Pacific Avenue in 1896.
