Overview
Virginia Mason (d. 1936), a noted early Tacoma suffragette and women's rights advocate, resided in this residence with her husband, John Q. Mason (d. 1922). Virginia Mason has been credited as the architect for the house, one of the earliest architectural credits for a woman in the Puget Sound region. She worked with Charles F. Erickson, a local building contractor to complete the house in 1905-1906.
