Building Notes

In 1957, Gordon B. Oakeshott stated in San Francisco Earthquakes of March 1957 put out by the California Bureau of Mines in 1959, that the "Sheridan Elementary School, an unapproved structure,is a three-story wood frame building, constructed in 1909." From this, it is clear that the Daly City Earthquake of 03/22/1957, measuring 5.7 on the Richter Scale, caused significant damage to the old 47-year-old Sheridan School.
