The McCoombs Building occupied the southeast corner of Pike Street and 7th Avenue

Overview

The wood-frame McCoombs Building was removed in 1914, replaced by a fire-resistant brick structure. The Seattle Times noted: ""The old frame McCoombs block at the southeast corner at Pike Street and Seventh Avenue now is falling before the house-wrecker and in its place will rise the five-story brick apartment house and store building to be erected by the McKays." (See "Building Active in Pike Street," Seattle Times, 04/05/1914, p. 14.)
