Demolished; an eight-story hotel was planned to replace the Hobson's residence in 1925. An article in the Los Angeles Times, 03/27/1925, stated: "The proposed building, to cost in excess of $1,000,000, will be erected on property purchased from Maj. and Mrs. James H. Hobson through Kells & Grant for a reported consideration of $75,000. Site upon which the new building will rise has a frontage of 150 feet and a depth of 100 feet and is now occupied by the Hobson family." (See "Huge Apartment to Rise," Los Angeles Times, 03/27/1925, p. A1.) This apartment building was not completed.
