The simplified English Country Style residence at 3900 East Madison Street was erected in 1923. In 09/1935, R.J. Sibbald purchased the residence at 3900 East Madison Street from H.H. Hanlon. (See "Transfers Cover Wide Range," Seattle Times, 09/15/1935, p. 31.) In 2014, James and Kerstin Harding owned the house.

In 1935, this residence had an L or T shaped plan, with a one-story first floor, probably containing the living and dining rooms, in the building's long segment. A chimney stood on the southwest wall, heating the living space. The small segment of the L or T had two stories, accommodating kitchen and bedrooms on the first and second floors. A steeply pitched compound gable roof covered the house.
