H. Brook served as the President and J.H. Spear Secretary and Treasurer of the Washington Brick and Lime Company in 1889. It advertised itself as a manufacturer and dealer in "common pressed and fire brick, lime, cement, plaster and hair." Its capital stock was said to be worth $50,000. Its office and warehouse stood at Stevens Street and the Northern Pacific Railway tracks in Spokane Falls, later renamed Spokane, WA. (See the Spokane Falls Directory, 1889, p. 15.)
